eyes while you talk with them

What is rude, and what is polite is different
in every culture. Each lesson we will discuss some things
that many Chinese do that can be considered Rude, or not
polite in the Western business and social world. We will
give you advice on you what NOT to say or do. Remember,
don't be a Rude Dude!
什么是粗鲁，什么是礼貌在每种文化里是不同的。每篇课文我们要讨论许多中国人做的事情，这些事情可能被西方商业界或者西方社会认为是粗鲁的，或者是不礼貌的。我们会给你一些建议，（告诉你）什么不应该说或做。记住，不要做粗鲁的人。
Never say "ok". It is rude and
it is a weak way to say "yes." Saying "Ok"
shows that you are not very smart.
永远都不要说“ok”。这是说“是的”的一种粗鲁而软弱的方式。说“ok”表明你不太聪明。
Never say "hello" when someone's
back is to you or if they are walking away. Try "excuse
me," or "pardon me." People usually only
say hello on the phone, or when a person (A) introduces
you (B) to a new friend (C).
在别人背对着你或者他们走开时永远都不要说“hello”，试着用“excuse
me”或者“pardon me”。通常人们只在电话里或别人将你介绍给一个新朋友时才说hello。
Never say "yes" when you mean
no. If someone asks you if you understand, don't say,
"Yes, yes, yes." It is better to say, "sorry,
I don't understand."
当你的意思是“不”的时候，永远都不要说“yes”。如果有人问你你是否明白，不要说“Yes,
yes, yes.”，说“sorry, I don't understand.”更好。
Never say "no" when you mean
yes. If your boss asks if you think you are a good worker,
say "yes." If your friend offers you some water,
and you are (5) thirsty, say "yes." Unlike in
China, Westerners will only ask once.

When you talk with someone never look
away from their face. Try looking into their eyes. Keep
eye contact. Smiling a little always helps. Remember,
"when in Rome, do as the Romans do," so don't
be a Rude Dude!

tonight. I am afraid he thinks I am a rude dude.
Gordon: Why do you think so?
Molly: My English is poor, and when I talk with him, I
am shy.
Gordon: That is not so important. But you must be polite.
Do you keep eye contact with him when you speak?
Molly: No I don't. I look away, I am afraid of his blue
eyes.
Gordon: I understand. You are a rude dude. Keeping eye
contact is very important in Western culture. Don't be
a rude dude!
Molly: Thanks a lot, I will practice being better.
Gordon: No problem, anything for you.
Molly: Catch you later.
Gordon: Later..
